As you know, it's really cold outside, and we're even facing the potential of more snow over the weekend. This is just a general reminder to keep your instruments from getting cold as well. Keep them in a room that's able to stay warm, and don't leave them in a car. This is serious. Not only can the cold cause your instrument to become severely out of tune, but also severely damaged.
This article at this link provides a good explanation on how the cold weather can affect your instrument, and what you can do to keep your instrument safe. It's mainly focused on violins, but the care and tips would be the same for violas, cellos, and basses.
Other than that, be sure to have a snowball fight and enjoy some hot cocoa while listening to Vivaldi's Winter Concerto afterwards.
